What we aim for

We build this site to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at level AA. In plain terms, it should work with only a keyboard, with a screen reader, zoomed in, and on a phone.

What's in place

  • Every link and button can be reached with the Tab key, and you can see where you are.
  • Text is checked for contrast against its background.
  • Photos have written descriptions. The 2011 letter on the History page is typed out in full next to the picture of it.
  • Buttons are big enough to tap, and nothing scrolls sideways on a phone.
  • If your device asks for less motion, the falling snow and Breaker's peekaboo stay put.
  • Every show address is written out in text, not only inside the map.

We run an automated accessibility check before each update goes live.

What we know isn't perfect

The maps on the Maps page come from Google, so we can't fix everything about how they work with a screen reader. The addresses and the directions buttons right next to them work either way. Some of the old family photos are scans of prints, so a few are blurry.

Tell us

If something on the site doesn't work for you, email admin@muillerfamilylightshow.com. Tell us the page, what you were trying to do, and the device or tool you use, and we'll fix what we can.
